On November 11, 2018, Prof. Huub Rijnaarts, Dean of the Institute of Environment and Climate, Wageningen University, the Netherlands, was invited by Prof. Gong Zhengjun to give academic lectures and academic exchanges at X4243. Associate dean Ouyang Feng, Professor Huang Tao, Professor Gong Zhengjun, Associate Professor Zhang Han, Senior Engineer Wang Dongmei, and some students from environmental engineering and related majors attended the academic lecture. This lecture was hosted by Professor Gong Zhengjun.

Firstly, Professor Gong Zhengjun briefly introduced the basic situation and academic achievements of Professor Huub Rijnaarts. She expressed her warm welcome to Professor Huub Rijnaarts.

Then, Professor Huang Tao and Professor Huub Rijnaarts conducted in-depth exchanges, detailed the development history of the School of Geosciences and the Department of Environmental Engineering, the faculty and academic achievements in recent years, and also hoped to carry out further talents with Wageningen University. International cooperation and exchanges in training and research.

Next, Prof. Huub Rijnaarts gave an academic report on the theme of “Introduction Environmental Technology” to the teachers and students present. From the global environmental pollution as an entry point, it put forward the environmental problems and challenges we are facing now, and then introduced Europe to everyone. The pollution control technology and prevention measures adopted by the region on water environment issues, and the team's application of photocatalytic technology in water treatment and high-concentration organic wastewater treatment technology in recent years. The teachers and students who participated in the academic report and Professor Huub Rijnaarts conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on hot issues such as water treatment technology.

Finally, Professor Gong Zhengjun summed up the academic lecture and presented a souvenir to Professor Huub Rijnaarts. He once again expressed his heartfelt thanks to Professor Huub Rijnaarts for his visit.
