From September 26 to 28, 2018, the first seminar on the construction of geological resources and geological engineering discipline was held in Hefei, Anhui province. This session is sponsored by the discipline evaluation group of the seventh academic degree committee of the state council on geological resources and geological engineering and undertaken by Hefei University of Technology. In order to thoroughly implement the spirit of the 19th CPC national congress and accelerate the construction of first-class universities and disciplines, the conference focused on the core issues of the construction of first-class disciplines of geological resources and geological engineering and postgraduate training. There were eight reports and three group discussions. In this conference, participants exchanged and summarized the experience of discipline construction and postgraduate training, which played a certain role in the development of geological resources and geological engineering discipline and the improvement of talent training quality. There were 102 teaching and research institutions and 126 representatives attending the meeting. Gang Luo, a teacher from the department of geological engineering of our college attended the meeting.
First of all, academician Suping Peng, who works in China University of Mining and Technology in Beijing, and professor Liang Liang, President of Hefei University of Technology, delivered a speech and extended a warm welcome to all the experts and teachers attending the conference. Academician Suping Peng is also the convener of the discipline evaluation group of the state council.
Subsequently, Jilin University vice-chancellor professor You-Hong Sun, China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) Qing-Lin Xia, academic affairs minister Yuan-Xun Zhang professor at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, ZeShi professor at Chengdu University of Technology , Jian-Hui Zeng professor at China University of Petroleum (Beijing), Ying-Hai Guo professor at China University of Mining and Technology, Tao-Fa Zhou professor at Hefei University of Technology and Hui-Ming Tang professor at the China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) made special reports, respectively. Then experts and representatives discussed in groups. Finally, the conveners of each group report on their discussions in the summary meeting. Convener of the discipline evaluation group of the state council professor Hui-Ming Tang made a summary speech at the conference. Afterwards, all the experts and teachers took a group photo. At this point, the geological resources and geological engineering discipline construction seminar held successfully.
