Multi-field coupled simulation of large-scale landslide based on particle discrete element method

Speaker Profile:

Chun Liu, associate professor of geosciences and engineering, Nanjing University, master tutor. The main research fields are multiple-scale quantitative analysis and numerical simulation of rock and soil mass, including quantitative analysis of microstructure, discrete element method, multiple field coupling theory, system development and application of rock and soil mass. Combined with these studies, Professor Liu has carry out long-term cooperation with the Stanford University in U.S. (Rock mechanics) andKarlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) inGerman (soil mechanics, fluid) and other colleges and universities. In 2012, Dr. Liu Graduated from Nanjing University and awarded "2012 Siguang excellent doctoral student Award" and "2013 excellent doctoral thesis in Jiangsu province". The he worked as post-doctoral researcher at Stanford University. He is an associate professor at Nanjing University since 2014. In 2015, professor Liu was selected the Institute of Rock Mechanics and engineering "Young Talent Lift Project"; in 2016, professor Liu was awarded by the Chinese Geological Society Engineering Geology "Goode Youth Science and Technology Award"; in 2016, hewas selected as "Young Talent Lift Project" of China Association of Sciences.

Professor Liu has chaired and participated in six National Natural Science Foundation Project Research, published more than 40 research papers, including 21 SCI papers. Among them, 11 SCI papers are first author publications including 3 published in Journal of Geophysical Research-solid Earth (top Journal of the field of rock Mechanics International), 3 in computers and Geosciences, 2 in Journal of Structural Geology, as well as Build and Environment, Engineering geology and Applied Clay Science, etc. Professor Liu has applied for and obtained 9 National Invention Patent and 5 software copyright.
