In order to promote the interaction and exchange of outstanding college students in Domestic colleges and universities, demonstrate the strength of our environmental discipline, and attract more outstanding college students to study in our college. The Department of Environmental Science and Engineering held the "2020 Excellent College Students of Environmental Science Summer Camp" on July 17, 2020. Excellent students from many universities across China participated in this activity.

At the meeting of the summer camp in the morning, Zhang Han, deputy head of the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering, introduced the history of our school's environmental discipline in detail. At present, the students had a more comprehensive understanding of our school's environmental discipline, including the characteristics of postgraduate training, academic training, research direction and research team.

Later, the first academic lecture was held in the morning, and Professor Fan Meikun from the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering was invited to share the theoretical and applied research of light and functional nanomaterials in the study of environmental chemistry. Professor Fan's lecture was simple and profound, which aroused great interest of the students.

In the afternoon, the second academic lecture was held. Peng Daoping, deputy head of the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering, introduced the research on solid waste management and resource recovery to the students. The academic report made the students feel the profound knowledge of the teachers and the good scientific atmosphere of the environmental discipline.

In order to have a more comprehensive understanding of the students' professional level and comprehensive quality, Gong Zhengjun, associate dean, associate professors of environmental discipline Liu Ying, Zhang Shengli and Zhang Han were invited to communicate with the campers. The students prepared well and responded positively, which won the unanimous recognition of the teachers.

The teachers affirmed the students' learning achievements in their majors and their excellent performance in the interview. Then, Gong Zhengjun introduced the rigorous style of postgraduate training, and pointed out the advantages of choosing environmental discipline of Southwest Jiaotong University. Students are welcome to apply for postgraduate study in our school.

Students have said that this summer camp is not a small harvest, for the future postgraduate entrance exam thinking more clearly, benefited a lot! So far, the summer camp of the environmental discipline came to a successful end.
