On the afternoon of September 28,a delegation led byVice President Yao Faming went to the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Education to report on the progress of establishment of an international demonstration school of geosciences in our university.

Deputy Director Nie Biao and Deputy Director Xu Haoqing of the Department of Foreign Experts Services met with Yao Faming and the delegation, and Vice President Yao Faming and Executive Dean Liu Guoxiang systematically explained the recent progress, work focus and plans for the next stage with a Report on the Progress of the Application for the Establishment of the International Demonstration School of Geosciences.Nie Biao gave high remarks on the work completed and encouraged the university to promote the internationally-oriented development, make institutional innovations in teaching, research and management system, and boost an substantive development of higher education by introducing top overseas experts.

After that, Yao Faming led the delegation to the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges of the Ministry of Education, and met with Liu Jin, Deputy Director of the Department.

Ren Xinhong, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges, and Xu Junhua, Deputy Secretary/Deputy Dean of Faculty of Geosciences and Environmental Engineering attended the report.
